The Royal College of Surgeons of England, London is hosting an event on Tuesday 20th April 2013 that aims to enlighten surgeons from all surgical specialties about new opportunities available in clinical and service research in surgery, and how to become involved.
Clinical and service research directly relevant to current surgical practice is likely to become increasingly important, and infrastructure and opportunities to allow working surgeons to play an active part are now appearing. This meeting aims to illuminate the new fields for research, and the support, training and networks which will help many more surgeons to get involved in research, improve the quality of surgical research and lift its profile.
Speakers to include:
Professor Dion Morton (Clinical Director of Research, RCS)
Professor Derek Alderson (Chair of Academic and Research board, RCS)
Mr Peter McCulloch (Clinical Reader in Surgery)
Mr Nigel Beasley (Deputy Medical Director, Nottingham University Hospital)
